Penguin Flower Girl

A few weeks ago, Ellie made her first trip down the aisle as a flower girl for my cousin Allison's wedding. It was a beautiful day, and I'm so proud of Ellie and Jace (the ringbearer)...I can't believe how great they did. Leading up to the big day wasn't quite as easy, though!

Ellie was not too keen on the idea - mainly because she didn't have a clue what it meant to be a flower girl, but also because she knew there would be pictures involved. Thanks to the genius of my friend Bernadette, she devised a plan to get Ellie down the aisle and in front of the camera. She created this whole story about a "wedding penguin" and how he loved to go to weddings, have his picture taken, and collect flower petals while riding in the flower girl's basket. Well, needless to say, Ellie was sold!

So, Bernie gave me the wedding penguin and we put him in Ellie's basket. The other helpful factor was Jace - he is adorable! He was so sweet and held Ellie's hand throughout the rehearsal. His mom, Danielle, took all the photos (she too is kid-genius). I think Danielle has a future in kid photography!

Too darn cute!
